The composite toe is great light weight and does not hold the cold. They are built well but time will tell how they last. They are a lot more comfortable than I expected also. I will be getting another pair of these, they well deserve the Red wing label. I found no defects other than they don't list these as the king toe. I have wide feet and there is plenty of room in the toe, better than other boots I have tried. They are not to bulky as I also wear size 13 wide. I figured I would be tripping over everything until I got used to them but they fit like I already broke them in.
