During wear and tear, zippers will get damaged and wear out. Examples: Mowing, shopping, working on my car, hiking, etc. I've had some tough jobs since my first pair including metal work. They lasted fantastically long compared to other cheaper brands. I'm a big tall guy and I tend to be pretty rough on shoes. I only had one pair break the zipper after only having them for a month. It was my fault though. Great comfort straight out of the box. After about a year I usually have to replace the insole with some gel ones but the tread holds up even under tough, oily (Hydraulic and lube oil) conditions. I wish they would breath a little better but that would defeat the water resistant nature of them. Awesome product Red Wing!!! I will buy another pair in the future.
