Please do take note that you will need to provide your own insole to make these comfy. Shiny, but not too shiny, with a nice wedge-like outsole. The leather looks tough, but I already (after 4-5 wears) have a stratch/tiny hole on the inside of the heel (I only work in an office). We'll see how they hold up. The leather doesn't seem to be used by shoemakers much, as the only other thing I found on google that was made of "chapperal" leather were pickup truck interiors! However, I do like them, and might pick up another pair before they discontinue them. They have gotten to be the most comforable "dressy" shoes I have (I have a few Allen Edmonds that are practically unwearable!). 1 star off for that mini-scrape! As a medical student, I would stand on rounds all day long and my feet would kill me. I refuse to wear Danskos because they make men look ridiculous. These are great to stand and walk around in all day. They don't fix the problem but they certainly help. The shoe is tough, they feel like a pair of boots. They're also made in the USA. The only complain is that the sizing differs from the boots. I went a full shoe size up from my heritage Redwing boots after returning a pair that fit way too small. These shoes are also heavy like a pair of boots and although your feet won't be as sore from walking/standing all day, they will like the relief of taking the weight off your feet when you take them off for the night.
