The left fits ok but the right is loose and my foot moves excessively in it. I had to have the front straps shortened so they would do anything at all. The straps were very loose even when they were adjusted to the tightest position. They are made in China, I was expecting them to be made in the USA. So here's one to help out everyone thinking about purchasing these Red Wing 988 steel toe motorcycle boots.Whether or not you plan on riding a motorcycle while wearing them, you should be warned that the only fasteners on these boots are the buckles (and they seem to be more for fashion than function, but I can still get some adjustment out of the calf-level one), and will not fit nearly as tight as lace-up boots. There is going to be some wiggle room around your ankle and lower calf, but if this won't bother you, it won't be an issue. I haven't had any problems with losing traction on slippery surfaces, even though I thought at first I would. They're also not loose to the point that your foot will slip out unexpectedly.
