They were extremely comfortable and the break-in wasn't nearly as painful as expected (these where my first "real" leather boots). 0 One major fault though, within a week of regular wear the stitching came out in at least two different places on each of the boots. I was given a full refund but was left bootless. I know this isn't a testament to all of Frye's line as I know people who have their products and where surprised to hear of my experience. Either way I personally wouldn't buy these again but I would still consider their other products. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful Comfortable, Stylish...Lacks in Quality, By Verified Purchase This review is from: FRYE Men's Arkansas Mid Lace Boot (Apparel) I received these boots about 3 months ago. They are comfortable out of the box, look great, and appear to made of quality materials. Unfortunately I had to return the first pair because the stitching was coming apart at the corner of the lacing nearest to the toe. After only a little more than a month of wear this was completely unacceptable for such an expensive boot. Fortunately, Amazon makes returns extremely easy and they replaced the boot within 2 days and even gave a $40 refund since the replacement boots were cheaper than when I originally purchased them! For sizing, I would highly recommend going a full size down from your normal. Fortunately, upon my return I was given the opportunity to change the size so I went to a 10 and they fit much better. Mind you, I normally don't wear very thick socks (socks that... They took about 2 weeks to have a nice smooth broken in feel. Others have stated that they aren't true to size but I really feel that's due to people not being used to wearing boots these days. This is not a lined boot, meaning it's completely leather. So you can't expect the insulation or furr to buffer your foot size. Another thing is that many people have complained about comfort, and I must say this is also due to just not being used to boots. As I said, after about 2 weeks they were totally broken in and comfortable after wearing them ALL DAY EVERY DAY. Frye does really make excellent boots. Top quality leather and stitching and stylish as heck! They look great with jeans and I honestly have been pulling them off with slacks for work/dressing up. I love them! 0 |
